E4 provides permanent +30% Extra Attack damage plus scaling based on Flutters, dramatically amplifying Diana's numerous extra attack triggers. E6 doubles Flutters generation (4 per discard instead of 2), increases maximum to 30 stacks, and adds 200% Extra Damage proc when reaching 30 Flutters. At E6, Diana generates 4 Flutters per discard, meaning 8 discards reaches 30+ Flutters (providing +30% base + 30% from Flutters = +60% Extra Attack damage) plus the 200% Extra Damage proc.

How to Play Diana in Chaos Zero Nightmare

Diana's gameplay revolves around the Quietus and Resonance mechanics, two unique systems where discarding cards activates them for free (Quietus) and generates extra attacks (Resonance). Understanding how to generate Heartbreaker and Heart Shaker bullets, discard Quietus cards efficiently, manage Resonance stacks, and sequence card plays correctly is essential to playing her effectively. Unlike traditional DPS who play cards from hand using AP, Diana deals the majority of her damage through free card activations triggered by discard effects, creating explosive combo chains with minimal AP investment.

The core mechanic Quietus works as follows: Any card with the Quietus keyword that is discarded by a card effect activates for free, as if you played it from hand without paying its AP cost. The key restrictions are: Quietus cards do NOT trigger when discarded by passing your turn with too many cards in hand (only card effects trigger Quietus), and Quietus cards cannot be moved from the used pile during the turn they're activated, preventing infinite loops. This means you cannot discard With All My Heart, have it activate to create Heartbreakers, then somehow retrieve With All My Heart from used pile and discard it again the same turn.

Diana's Quietus cards are: With All My Heart (all epiphanies), Pistol of Purification (all epiphanies), Blooming Love V, Cupid Shot, and Blooming Love itself has "Draw 1 Quietus card" effect which searches for these. Additionally, Diana can grant Quietus to other cards: With All My Heart IV applies Quietus to all Exhaust Bullet cards in hand.

Heartbreaker and Heart Shaker are Diana's two bullet types with different functions. Heartbreaker is a 0 AP Attack (Bullet, Exhaust, Haste). When played manually from hand, it deals 80% Damage and discards 1 random Bullet card from hand. When Heartbreaker is discarded by any effect, it performs 120% Extra Attack to random enemy. The manual play effect can chain: If you play Heartbreaker from hand and it randomly discards another Heartbreaker, the discarded one triggers its 120% Extra Attack. If you have 5 Heartbreakers in hand and play one, it might discard a second (triggering 120% Extra Attack), that discard counts as discard effect, potentially chaining further.

Heart Shaker is a 0 AP Skill (Bullet, Exhaust, Haste). When played manually from hand, it applies 1 Resonance to an enemy and discards 1 random card from Draw Pile. When Heart Shaker is discarded by any effect, it applies 2 Resonance to random enemy. The "discard from Draw Pile" effect when manually playing Heart Shaker can hit Quietus cards in your deck, activating them for free without ever drawing them. This creates value: Play Heart Shaker → It discards With All My Heart from Draw Pile → With All My Heart activates via Quietus, creating 2 Heartbreakers and dealing damage.

Resonance is a debuff that stacks on enemies. Whenever any card is discarded by an effect (not by passing turn), each Resonance stack on that enemy triggers once, dealing 80% Extra Attack and removing 1 Resonance stack. For example: Enemy has 5 Resonance stacks. You discard 3 cards this turn (doesn't matter which cards). Each discard triggers 1 Resonance, so 3 discards = 3 Resonance triggers = 3 × 80% Extra Attacks = 240% total damage, leaving enemy with 2 Resonance remaining. Resonance allows you to deal free damage to secondary targets while focusing primary damage elsewhere, or to amplify single-target damage by stacking multiple Resonance before mass-discarding.

With All My Heart is Diana's primary Heartbreaker generator. At base, it costs 1 AP (Attack, Quietus), deals 100% Damage, creates 2 Heartbreakers. The optimal play pattern is NEVER manually playing this card for 1 AP. Always discard it via Blooming Love, Nia's Adagio, Cassius's Shuffle, or other discard effects to activate it for free via Quietus. When discarded, it deals damage and creates 2 Heartbreakers without AP cost.

With All My Heart Epiphany I increases damage to 150% and creates 3 Heartbreakers instead of 2. This is the most universally strong Epiphany and excellent duplication target.

With All My Heart Epiphany IV costs 2 AP but transforms into Skill type. It creates 2 Heartbreakers and applies Quietus to all Exhaust Bullet cards in hand. This is transformative when playing Diana with other bullet characters.

C'mere, Milk and Pong! generates Heart Shakers. Base version costs 1 AP (Skill), creates 2 Heart Shakers.

C'mere, Milk and Pong! Epiphany II costs 1 AP (Skill): "Discard up to 2 cards in hand, Create Heart Shaker for each Discarded +1." This is the best Epiphany for most builds. It provides discard outlet (triggering Quietus cards) while generating 1-3 Heart Shakers (0 discards = 1 Heart Shaker, 1 discard = 2 Heart Shakers, 2 discards = 3 Heart Shakers). Use this to discard With All My Heart and Pistol of Purification, activating them for free via Quietus while generating Heart Shakers that apply Resonance stacks.

Blooming Love is Diana's primary discard engine and Quietus card searcher. Base version costs 1 AP (Skill): "Draw 1 Quietus card, Discard 2." This guarantees drawing a Quietus card (With All My Heart, Pistol of Purification, Cupid Shot, or Blooming Love V if in deck), then forces you to discard 2 cards. The optimal sequence is: Play Blooming Love → It draws With All My Heart → Discard With All My Heart + another Quietus card → Both discarded cards activate via Quietus for free. You spent 1 AP, drew 1 card, and activated 2 cards for free.

Blooming Love is the best duplication target for most Diana builds because it provides card draw, discard outlets, and Quietus card access simultaneously.

Blooming Love Epiphany I costs 1 AP (Skill): "Draw 1 Quietus card, Discard 1. If Discarded card was different Combatant's, create 2 Heart Bullet." This works excellently with Renoa or other teammates. If you discard Renoa's Dirge Bullet, it activates (dealing 200% damage) AND creates 2 additional Heart Bullets (Heartbreaker or Heart Shaker). This is fantastic for multi-character bullet teams.

Diana's greatest strength is AP efficiency. She deals tonnes of damage per turn while spending only 3-5 AP (1 AP per Blooming Love, 1 AP per C'mere Milk and Pong, occasional 1 AP for manually playing Heartbreakers), with teammates spending their AP on buffs, healing, and discard effects. Her greatest weakness is setup dependency - she requires specific Epiphanies (With All My Heart I or IV, Blooming Love, C'mere Milk and Pong II) and teammates with discard mechanics (Nia, Cassius) to function optimally. Without discard outlets, Diana's Quietus cards sit in hand doing nothing.

Another weakness is Quietus card accessibility. If all Quietus cards are in used pile (can't be retrieved same turn) or haven't been drawn yet, Diana's damage drops significantly. Blooming Love's "Draw 1 Quietus card" effect mitigates this, but you still need Blooming Love in hand or draw pile. Additionally, Diana's damage is spread across many small instances (80-120% per Heartbreaker, 80% per Resonance trigger) rather than concentrated in one massive hit, making her less effective against enemies with damage reduction per-hit or enemies requiring burst damage checks.

Diana's skill ceiling is moderate to high. Perfect play requires tracking Quietus card locations (hand, draw pile, discard pile, used pile), sequencing discards correctly (discard With All My Heart before Pistol of Purification to generate Heartbreakers that can be discarded for more Resonance triggers), managing Resonance stacks (stacking high before triggering vs. triggering incrementally), timing Quietus application and hand space management.
