Some players prefer combining Tetra's Authority and Healer's Journey for a more support-focused build that emphasizes team survivability.
For main stats, you want Attack% on your Ideal slot, Void Damage% on your Desire slot, and either Attack% or Ego Regen on your Imagination slot. Your substats should focus on Attack%, Attack, Defense, and Health%.

Manifest Ego
| Stage | Manifest Ego | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sleeping Memory | Predator's Blade increases Morale by 2 additional stacks for 1 turn (total 4 Morale) |
| 2 | Awakening Memory | When Rei uses an Attack Card, heal for 120%. This effect triggers only once per turn. |
| 3 | Vivid Memory | Increase the level of Potential by +3 for [Upgrade Basic Cards], [Upgrade Neutral Cards], [Upgrade Unique Cards] |
| 4 | Inner Memory | Final Shadow damage increased by +100% |
| 5 | Complete Memory | Increase the level of Potential by +3 for [Upgrade Basic Cards], [Upgrade Neutral Cards], [Upgrade Unique Cards] |
| 6 | Liberated Memory | Allies' attack card damage is increased by +20% |
The most important Manifest Ego stages are E1 and E2. E1 turns Predator's Blade into a 4 Morale buff (80% increased damage), making it one of the strongest temporary buffs in the game. E2 adds healing whenever Rei uses an attack card, turning her into a hybrid support who can heal while buffing. E6 provides a flat damage increase to all allies, which stacks with all her other buffs.
How to Play Rei in Chaos Zero Nightmare
Rei's job is to boost your main damage dealer's attacks through temporary but powerful buffs. You're looking at which cards your main DPS has in their hand each turn, then deciding which of Rei's buffs will give you the biggest damage increase. The tricky part is figuring out whether it's better to use two buffs on one attack or spread your buffs across multiple attacks.
When the battle starts, you want to get Resonating Darkness active as soon as possible. This card stays active for the entire fight once you play it, giving all your 1-cost cards a permanent damage boost. After that's set up, you're looking to use your other buffs on your strongest attack cards. Strike of Darkness works best when your team uses basic attack cards frequently. If your main DPS relies on basic attacks like Mei Lin or Yuki, this buff turns them into damage machines. Dark Condensation lets you pick any attack card and boost its damage for one turn, which gives you flexibility to respond to whatever's in your hand.
Predator's Blade is your most straightforward buff. It just gives Morale to everyone, which means more damage across the board. If you have E1, this card becomes even better because it grants 4 Morale instead of 2, giving your entire team an 80% damage increase for one turn. You'll usually want to play this right before your main DPS uses their big attacks.
For card removal, you want to get rid of two of Rei's starting cards early on. Most players remove both copies of Dark Blade, but you can also remove one Dark Blade and Material Regeneration instead. The reason you remove these is that Rei's other cards are just more useful. Her buffs provide way more value than a basic attack or heal. However, if you get E2, you might want to keep one Dark Blade around because it triggers your healing effect.
The best Epiphany choices change depending on what your team needs. For Strike of Darkness, Epiphany 4 turns it into a 0-cost card that activates all basic cards in your hand for free. This is amazing if your team uses a lot of basic attacks. Epiphany 1 is also good because it sometimes costs 0 AP and has the Lead tag. For Resonating Darkness, Epiphany 4 is usually your best bet because it buffs cards that cost 1 or less, which covers more cards than the version that only buffs 1-cost cards. For Snack Time, Epiphany 2 is strong because it lets you use the card twice before it exhausts, and it draws two cards at once. For Dark Condensation, Epiphany 4 is excellent because the damage buff stays on the card until you actually use it, so you can buff a card and save it for the perfect moment.
Rei works best with characters who attack frequently or have multi-hit abilities. Each hit from a multi-hit attack benefits from her buffs, so cards that hit 3 or 4 times get way more value from her damage increases.
